Systems sector is seeking a Principal Engineering Technician/Sr.
Principal Engineering Technician to join our team of qualified,
diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be
located in Melbourne, FL. This position may be filled by either at
the Principal Engineering Technician level OR at the Sr. Principal
Engineering Technician level based on the qualifications listed.
Job Description: Involved in Lab Operations/Testing including, but
not limited to, performing systems integration and acceptance
testing of aircraft production instrumentation and telemetry
systems Ensure test station and all interface assets are hardware
and software configured and ready to support production hardware
tests. Work closely with REs and QA to maintain and validate
aircraft production system hardware and software Recommend and
implement continuous improvement activities in production methods
and testing, equipment performance and team effectiveness. Record
and report existing electrical/mechanical discrepancies found
during production testing Basic Qualifications: Principal
Engineering Technician: (K3) High School diploma or equivalent and
4 years additional education and/or related experience. Active DoD
Secret Clearance Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program
Access (SAP/PAR) - needed to start. Hands-on experience with
military and/or commercial aircraft avionics and communications
systems, electrical systems, and test stations/ lab operations.
Experienced using test equipment such as digital multimeters,
O-Scopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and RF and audio
signal generators Experience in reading and interpreting technical
schematics, drawings, and maintenance manuals. Basic
Qualifications: Sr. Principal Engineering Technician: (K4) High
School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education
and/or related experience. Active DoD Secret Clearance Ability to
obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) - needed to
start. High school diploma or equivalent is required with a minimum
of 6 years of hands-on experience with military and/or commercial
aircraft avionics and communications systems, electrical systems,
and test stations/ lab operations. Experienced using test equipment
such as digital multimeters, O-Scopes, power supplies, spectrum
analyzers, and RF and audio signal generators Experience in reading
and interpreting technical schematics, drawings, and maintenance
manuals. Preferred Qualifications: Strong problem-solving abilities
and an aptitude for working in dynamic environments Excellent
communication skills and the ability to work both independently and
collaboratively. Experienced with Electronic Principals, Military
and Commercial data bus standards protocols to include but are not
limited to MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, Ethernet, RS485/RS422, and 1394
busses Experience in a configuration-controlled lab facility/
maintenance environment. Knowledgeable in Military Aircraft
Communications, Navigation/GPS, Multi-Band Transmitters, and Data
Recording Systems Proven ability to mentor junior technicians and
support team development. Certifications or technical training in
relevant engineering technologies. Primary Level Salary Range:
$57,500.00 - $95,900.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $68,300.00 -
$113,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline;
however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when
determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
