Position SummaryThe Payroll Manager oversees the payroll process for the organization's multi-state weekly payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesAudit weekly payroll for 1,000 employees in 7 different company codes to ensure accuracy before transmissionMake necessary adjustments or corrections through journal entries or other established proceduresGenerate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of earnings, taxes, and deductionsExercise judgment within defined procedures and propose appropriate solutionsAdherence to all relevant payroll, employment, income tax laws, regulations, and operating guidelinesEnsure that all ADP general ledger payroll interfaces and uploads are accurateRespond to payroll inquiries and report requests from internal stakeholdersRegister with required jurisdictions to ensure tax compliance as neededHandle all ADP payroll invoices, problems, improvements, implementation of any new system, upgrades or module(s)Perform year-end tasks, record fringe benefits, process special runs and adjustmentsTrouble shoot time clock issues and replace when neededRegularly identify process improvements leading to greater department efficienciesCorporate credit card administrator that handles expense report processing, credit card reconciliation, journal entries, vendor payments, general ledger clean-up and ordering new cardsResponds to requests for information necessary for compliance with audits and the annual budgetReconcile the employee receivables account monthlyMonthly entries in the general ledger for various payroll and accrual entriesSupport the HR team and maintain an effective working relationshipAble to anticipate and independently solve problemsSpecial payroll and accounting projects as neededQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EducationBachelor's degree in Accounting or Business AdministrationExperience/Skills/Abilities Required5 years of experience as a Payroll Manager in a similar size companyKnowledge of ADP Workforce NowBachelor's degree in Accounting or Business AdministrationA combination of training and experience considered equal to the aboveProficient in Microsoft particularly ExcelHigh degree of professionalismAbility to deal sensitively with confidential materialExcellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skillsWork Environment/Physical DemandsTypical office environment - moderate noise level. This position regularly requires standing; walking; sitting; use hands; reaching with hands and arms; and talking and/or hearing. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
