Job Description:
HCA Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated Respiratory Therapy
Student for a PRN position across our network of hospitals and care
sites. This role provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on
learning and application of respiratory therapy techniques under
the supervision of experienced professionals. The position requires
flexibility to cover shifts as needed and adapt to various patient
care environments, contributing directly to our mission of
improving human life through exceptional medical care. Assist in
conducting therapeutic procedures to maintain a patent airway,
remove bronchopulmonary secretions, and/or achieve adequate
ventilation and oxygenation. Monitor and record the patient’s
response to respiratory therapy treatment and report abnormal
findings to the supervising licensed practitioner. Set up and
operate devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas
administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and
aerosol generators. Follow specified procedures to perform blood
gas analysis and pulmonary function testing. Educate patients and
families about lung health and maintenance therapies. Maintain
patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Assist
with the cleaning, sterilizing, and maintenance of equipment.
Knowledge of respiratory care procedures and protocols. Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a
dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills. Proficiency in using medical equipment and
performing diagnostic procedures. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic Life Support
(BLS) Certification required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
(ACLS) Certification preferred but not mandatory.
