This is a non-sworn law enforcement dispatch opportunity
This is a responsible position requiring independent decision
making and the ability to monitor and operate the two-way radio
system, NCIC/ FCIC computer terminal (i.e. teletype) and telephone
while participating in the composing and disseminating of
information through these communications systems to agency
personnel, other law enforcement agencies and the public while
maintaining accurate records as required by the agency, FCC and

to citizen complaints and crime in progress, receives and
dispatches information or administrative messages regarding the
safety of officers performing hazardous duty and maintains accurate
records on all transmission as required by the agency and FCC,
contacts law enforcement administrators regarding any emergency
radio broadcast. Through radio and telephone contact, constantly
maintains location and status of law enforcement personnel.
Monitors and operates the NCIC/FCIC computer terminal, sends BOLO
messages received regarding dangerous or wanted criminals to
officers, receives emergency or informational requests from
officers and programs these messages into the computer, maintains
accurate records relating to computer transmissions as required by
the agency and FDLE, relays NCIC/FCIC information. Evaluates,
disseminates and provides security for criminal and/or confidential
information to authorized personnel 24 hours per day.
Answers long distance and local telephone calls for law enforcement
purposes and public response. Disseminates information to the
public and employees regarding laws and rules and regulations of
the Division while maintaining accurate records relating to
telephone communications as required by the agency.
Keeps current on all procedures, laws, regulations, and rules while
maintaining and operating the office and equipment in an orderly
manner, posting required general information, keeping and filing
records, materials and information. Performs miscellaneous clerical
duties as needed.After hours, weekends and holidays, provides
security for the Communications Command Center.Responds to
emergencies and alarms.
