Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a bilingual Senior Clerk position apart of the Client Administration team who reports directly to the Health Information Specialist Supervisor- SES. This position requires a professional demeanor to internal and external customers; ability to work as a team player and under stress without losing emotional control; a willingness to meet and exceed customer expectations; flexibility in adapting to changes in the workplace; sensitivity to client confidentiality; and a commitment to excellence. This position will be cross trained to perform any job function within the Client Administration team to ensure continuity of care. Employees are expected to perform job duties in accordance with federal and state laws, Administrative Codes, Florida Department of Health and local Martin County policies and procedures.

Client Administration:

+ Providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers

+ Answering and handling telephone calls, transferring calls to appropriate staff

+ Scheduling, confirming, cancelling, and rescheduling appointments

+ Creating, updating, and maintaining electronic health records in HMS to include demographic and insurance information

+ Check in clients in HMS for clinic services

+ Verify health insurance eligibility

+ Verify financial eligibility

+ First and annual appointments or as needed verify and update financial, insurance and demographic information and forms

+ Scan medical documents, client documents or DOH forms

+ Participate on projects as assigned by supervisor or leadership team

+ Complete HMS or any other assigned trainings by supervisor

+ Coordinate with clinic staff to interpret or translate into Spanish

Medical Records:

+ Organize patient records in the secure medical records area in Stuart and Indiantown locations

+ Review fax requests

+ Fax distribution to appropriate program or provider

+ File faxes, medical records, laboratory results and medical documents

+ Scan medical documents, client documents or DOH forms

+ Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPPA guidelines

Serve as back up to order and receive supplies from MyFlorida Marketplace (MFMP)

Participate in community outreach events for clinic programs

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to review data for accuracy and completion. Knowledge of general office procedures and policies. Ability to prepare reports and correspondence. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Knowledge of Microsoft office programs: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
