Job Description:
The City of Lake Worth Beach invites qualified individuals to
apply for the position of Equipment Operator II.
Vacancies: 4+
This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position based on a 40-hour work
week with an hourly rate of $17.49. The position is part of the
Public Employees Union (PEU) collective bargaining agreement. This
position will work at Public Works - Solid Waste & Recycling
Division located at 1880 2nd Avenue North, Lake Worth Beach, FL
33461.
In addition, this position offers:
SUMMARY:
The individual in this position will perform semi-skilled work in
the operation of rear load garbage truck, automated side load
garbage truck, grapple truck, packers, and/or trash truck. Heavy
manual labor in the collection and disposal of all types of solid
waste garbage, trash, and recycling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Ability to read, write, and understand written and oral English
instructions. High School Diploma or must be able to obtain GED
within one year of hire.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Must possess valid and current Florida CDL Class "B" Driver's
License.

move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include all DOT requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly
works in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet

exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work
environment is usually loud.
